Our Projects

Sras Srang North village orphanage

Providing 24 hour care and shelter for 70

children who are orphans or from poor families

and orphaned children. The children in the

orphanage all come from backgrounds of

extreme poverty and deprivation. They range in

age from six years to 15 years. Many have never been to school and are desperate for a safe and loving home. We provide three meals a day and ensure all the children attend government school. In addition we run our own classes in Khmer reading and writing as well as English language.

We also believe in preserving the Khmer culture

so we teach the children traditional Khmer dance

and to play Khmer musical instruments.

A team of foreign volunteers provide the English

language teaching and help with child care i.e.

 purchasing clothes, arranging hospital and

 optician appointments.

Community Development Work

Support families so that as many children as

possible can stay in their communities are an

important part of our work. As funds permit we

aim to assist poor families by providing food and

 educational support.

Children’s village and school

We currently rent the land on which the Sras

Srang Orphanage and Trang village Orphanage is

sited so to ensure the long term sustainability

of our work we must buy our own land and build

a new centre which has modern essentials such

as running water and electricity (neither of which we have at Sras Srang and Trang). We have raised some money towards this but urgently need more funds to proceed with purchase of the land and to build the centre. The new site will be approximately 1 hectare in size with houses each designed to accommodate up to 10 children and a house mother. There will be play facilities, school classrooms, music rooms a dance hall, staff accommodation and offices.
